The experiences consist of 2 exclusive packages in a luxury local accommodation, the Portugal Active Mountain Lodge in Geraz do Lima, Viana do Castelo, and active tourism experiences. There are two programs with different durations, one of 3 days with a 2-night stay and 3 experiences, and the other of 6 days with a 5-night stay and 5 active tourism experiences with the option of an afternoon of sightseeing. The 3-day program consists of the first 3 days of the 6-day program. In these programs, our guests will have the opportunity to discover different places and hidden spots in the municipality of Viana do Castelo, they will be able to tour the city, mountain trails, and the sand on the beach while discovering a different way to get to know the city and its views, horseback riding and passing through part of the Caminhos de Santiago and galloping on the beach sand, tasting the most traditional cuisine of Alto Miño with local products, and even doing a Stand Up Paddle route where you will travel along the Lima river and admire its banks as we connect rural areas with the city center and the fishing docks and shipyards of Viana do Castelo.

The port of Vila Praia de Âncora is located on the coast, in the municipality of Caminha, near the mouth of the Âncora river, next to the Lagarteira fort. It has infrastructure for fishing activities and another dedicated to nautical recreation.

Vila Praia de Áncora Beach

Seaside beach. The sandy beach of Vila Praia de Áncora stretches from the fishing port to the mouth of the Áncora River. It is bathed by strong Atlantic waves, offering good conditions for surfing and bodyboarding. The area adjacent to Avenida Marginal, where the sea has less current and access is easier. In the southern area, which is only accessible to pedestrians via a wooden walkway, almost deserted spaces can be found, surrounded by preserved dunes. Average water temperature in summer: 15-17 ºC. Accessible beach.

Cabedelo Beach (Viana do Castelo)

Maritime and windy beach. Fine yellow sand. Waves ideal for surfing, windsurfing, and bodyboarding. It is divided into two medium-sized sandy areas. It has a crescent shape. The northern part belongs to the mouth of the Lima River, and the larger southern part is already integrated with the Atlantic Ocean. Average water temperature in summer between 15-17 ºC.

Recreational Port / Marina of Viana do Castelo

The Marina of Viana do Castelo / Recreational Port is located on the right bank of the Lima River and has two docks. One is situated downstream of the Viana do Castelo metal bridge, with 163 mooring posts for vessels up to 20 meters in length and 3 meters draft. It has an area of 25,000 m2 of wet zone. This dock provides potable water, electricity, sanitary facilities, fuels, a tide grid, and a ramp for boat repairs. It also has a crane with a lifting capacity of 12.50 tons. The other dock, located upstream of the metal bridge, has 144 mooring posts for smaller vessels (<1.5 meters draft). It has an area of 12,600 m2 of wet area.

Darque Anchorage, Viana do Castelo

The Darque Anchorage is located between the river beach of Nossa Senhora das Areias, the Rio Lima camping, the old lime factory and the commercial port, where the fishing community of Darque is concentrated. This anchorage serves almost all the private boats of this community’s fishermen and can be accessed through Avenida do Cabedelo. The way to the anchorage goes up to the river. There are no support facilities.
