About this port

The surroundings of the old pier are dominated by vineyards and the visual depth offered by the panoramic view of the Miño River and its two banks. You can observe the terraces and the transport routes used to move the grapes, alongside the old pier which once facilitated communication via traditional boats of the area. Some of these vessels, restored and preserved, are flat and long, with oars designed for transporting animals, goods, and people. The village around the pier preserves important elements of traditional architecture, adapted to protect against the characteristic winds of the area.

Environment
From this dock, you can navigate the Miño River and discover the scenic and cultural richness of the Ribeira Sacra. Upstream, as long as the boat's height allows, it is possible to reach Belesar and admire its ports, vineyards, the village, and its churches. Sailing downstream, the sloping terraces accentuate the visual height of the mountains, dotted with small traditional villages. During the journey, you can observe Romanesque churches and hermitages, as well as a wide variety of river landscapes. The town of Chantada offers excellent connections to other points of interest such as Portomarín and Os Peares, where the Miño and Sil rivers meet, forming an area of high natural and heritage value.
