- The location of Monforte de Lemos offers multiple tourist possibilities, starting with the town itself, of castro origin and significant development during the 16th and 17th centuries. Since the 19th century, the arrival of the train to Galicia through this area made its station and railway workshops a must-visit, highlighting the train direction change platform.
Among the most notable places are the monastery of San Vicente del Pino, the Torre del Homenaje, remains of walls, the bridge over the Cabe River, and the vineyards of the Amandi Subzone, within the D.O. Ribeira Sacra. You can also visit Quiroga, with its oil mills, Roman mines, and the Syncline; as well as Pantón, with its castros, monasteries, and thermal waters.
Additionally, it is possible to travel to the Miño River at Belesar and Os Peares, where the Miño and Sil rivers meet, to explore the other bank of the river and visit monasteries and spectacular viewpoints. The city of Ourense is at a medium distance and is easily accessible.
