This hermitage remains in its original location as it was not flooded by the construction of the Belesar reservoir and was the chapel of the old San Nicolás neighborhood of Portomarín.
It is dedicated to San Roque, protector of pilgrims and the sick, and serves as a place of devotion, rest, and reflection for those traveling the Jacobean route.
Its presence in the original landscape, in contrast to other buildings moved stone by stone to the new Portomarín, makes it a symbol of spiritual and heritage continuity.
