Pazo Casdemiro

The Pazo Casdemiro is a notable Galician manor house, especially known as the birthplace of Padre Feijóo in 1676. Built in the early 17th century, the pazo has undergone numerous restorations throughout its history. It features a rectangular floor plan, with two stories and an exterior courtyard arranged on two levels. The construction, made of ashlar masonry, is surrounded by a high wall with two gates: one lintelled and the other with a semicircular arch. Above the lintel of one of the gates is an inscription commemorating the birth of Padre Feijóo, as well as two heraldic stones of the Puga and Feijóo lineages. Inside the pazo, a wax death mask of Padre Feijóo himself is preserved, constituting a valuable historical and family testimony.
