About this heritage
A group of more than fifty dolmens located in the Spanish municipalities of Alcántara (most of them), Brozas, Mata de Alcántara, Villa del Rey, and Zarza la Mayor, all in the western part of the province of Cáceres. These are medium or small-sized dolmens, following the model known in neighboring Portugal as anta. They are mainly constructed from slate, although some are made of granite.
