Gormaz Castle, located in Soria, is an imposing 10th-century caliphal fortress, considered the most extensive in Europe in its time, with a perimeter of approximately 1,200 meters and 28 towers. Built by order of Caliph al-Hakam II, it played a key strategic role in defending the Duero frontier during the Reconquista. Currently, significant remains such as the Caliphal Gate, the alcázar, and the keep tower are preserved, allowing the study of Andalusian military architecture and its later evolution.
