La Lonja de Zaragoza was built between 1541 and 1551, during the Renaissance, under the direction of architect Juan de Sariñena. Originally, the building was conceived as a space for commercial transactions, serving as a goods market and a meeting place for merchants. Its construction was carried out under the sponsorship of the Zaragoza City Council, with the intention of providing the city with a suitable space for the growing commercial needs of the time.

La Lonja is a magnificent example of Renaissance architecture in Spain. The facade is adorned with Renaissance details and features a combination of stone and brick.
