The Pazo de Lis is a baroque-style building located in the municipality of Meaño. It is one of the towns that make up the well-known Valle del Salnés along with Vilagarcía and Cambados, among others.

The Salnés region is one of the most important tourist destinations in Galicia and among many other options: The Pazo de Lis.

The Pazo consists of 2 floors with a room dedicated to a library and newspaper archive, two exhibition rooms, another for conferences, restrooms, and an office. As mentioned, it is baroque in style and features 2 defensive turrets on both sides of the main facade.

In addition to the Meaño tourist information point, this pazo houses the Centro de Interpretación da Muller Labrega. A hardworking woman and a fundamental pillar in daily life, as she not only performed household chores but also worked the fields.

Inside the pazo, there is a permanent exhibition with tools related to flax, bread, and sewing.

Understanding Galicia and the Galician countryside without speaking about the role of women is impossible. The Pazo de Lis and its interpretation center are a tribute to the many Galician women who made the Galicia we all know today possible.

Dena is located on the Ruta del Mar de Arousa y Ulla of the Camino de Santiago, which commemorates the journey through the estuary of the remains of Santiago Apóstol to Pontecesures and Padrón.

Meaño is located in the heart of Salnés, a region where you can find magnificent beaches, mountainous areas, and valleys, all surrounded by the charm of the Pontevedra estuary to the south and the Arosa estuary to the north. Can you ask for more?

The Salnés region is situated in the Rías Baixas and is made up of nine municipalities: Cambados, A Illa de Arousa, O Grove, Meaño, Meis, Ribadumia, Sanxenxo, Vilagarcía de Arousa, and Vilanova de Arousa.

As mentioned, the parish of Dena witnesses every year, since the first remonte began in 1965, the passage of the maritime-fluvial procession heading to Puentecesures and Padrón. We are talking about the maritime-fluvial Route of the Mar de Arousa and Río Ulla, which annually commemorates the arrival of Santiago Apóstol to Galicia.

This fluvial route passes through 22 municipalities belonging to the provinces of Pontevedra and A Coruña, which are also members of the patronage Fundación Ruta Xacobea do mar de Arousa e Ulla.

To complete the visit, Meaño offers other attractions such as the Telleira de Seixinos, the mills of Lores, and the mills and viewpoint of Simes.

Salnés is established as a tourist destination to be seriously considered. Its wealth of heritage resources, gastronomy, magnificent beaches, ... offers visitors an experience worth enjoying.

One of the most interesting places in the municipality of Meaño is the Pazo de Lis. This manor house, of baroque style, features two defensive turrets on both sides of the main facade and a small courtyard on the upper floor. The courtyard shows neoclassical lines and is crowned by a pediment with a coat of arms, like most Galician pazos.

Currently, this pazo houses the municipality's Tourist Information Point and the Centro de Interpretación da Muller Labrega. The latter pays tribute to the women who, over the years, have demonstrated their strength by balancing their work in the fields with household duties.

Meaño is a municipality located in the Salnés region, in the province of Pontevedra. It is surrounded by the municipalities of Ribadumia, Poio, Sanxenxo, and Cambados. It covers an area of 28 square kilometers and is made up of seven parishes: Covas, Padrenda, Xil, Meaño, Simes, Lores, and Dena.
