Natural park on the banks of the Miño, integrated into the Terras do Miño Biosphere Reserve
Natural area located in the river environment of the Miño River as it passes through Lugo, it is part of the Terras do Miño Biosphere Reserve, declared by UNESCO in 2002.
Its biodiversity and scenic richness make it a space of great ecological value, ideal for wildlife and flora observation. It also features an artificial lagoon, trails for walking and cycling, and green areas for leisure. Additionally, traditional elements linked to the historical use of the river stand out, such as the “pesqueiras” and the “caneiros.”
These structures are testimonies of the sustainable relationship that local communities have maintained with the river over the centuries. The park also serves an important role as a contemporary social and cultural space.
It houses playgrounds, rest and picnic areas, and hosts recreational and cultural activities, such as concerts and festivals, including the well-known Caudal Fest, which reinforces its value as a cultural and natural corridor within the city.
