It is a 3.5 x 1.8 meter structure with a capacity of about 4,000 liters, decorated with gray and black tesserae reminiscent of Christian mosaics from North Africa.

Its original function is not entirely clear: it could have been part of a paleochristian baptistery, although it is also suggested that it belonged to a frigidarium of some baths or a private balneum.

It is a protected asset under the Spanish Historical Heritage Law since 1985.
