The San Telmo Museum, inaugurated in 1902, is the oldest in the Basque Country, a museum that today is presented renewed and with new objectives. Based on its collections, almost entirely related to Basque society, San Telmo has been renewed to transform into a Museum of Basque Society and Citizenship, whose purpose is Basque society.

The subject of reflection presented by San Telmo is the cultural and historical past as the seed of today's society, from a multidisciplinary perspective open to contemporary dialogue and debate.

San Telmo is presented as a museum and, at the same time, a space for the dissemination of knowledge and the creation of thought, and aims to be an instrument to understand the present and build the future from the knowledge of the past.
