A Toxa is a beautiful place with difficult access due to lack of water. It is located in an exceptional geographical location, surrounded by the islands of Sálvora, Ons, and Arousa as well as Sanxenxo. In the mid-19th century, a spa was built in A Toxa to take advantage of the medicinal properties of the water and mud springs. Since then, the island has welcomed a large number of tourists attracted by the healing effects of these treatments, especially for skin conditions. Also attractive are the excellent climatic and recreational conditions, including the Gran Hotel, the Casino, the golf course, and other sports facilities. The marina has a total of 59 berths for boats between 8 and 18 meters in length and serves its users year-round. The main features of the marina are both the materials used in its construction and its characteristics; fingers of the same length as the berths make this marina a unique facility in the Ría de Arousa. All this with floating structures that completely eliminate any impact on the environment and the tidal cycle. Currently, there are available berths of 8, 10, and 12 meters.

Route and approach instructions

The navigator approaching O Grove and the main island of A Toxa must proceed with caution due to the shallow waters in the area.

From the entrance of the Ría de Arousa near the island of Rúa, we will head towards O Grove leaving the markers of Illa de Arousa to port, having a clear entrance south of Illa de Arousa, following the alignment between the buoys Pragueiro de Fóra and Lobeira de Cambados at 110 degrees.

The buoy of A Loba, southwest of the islet Corbeiro, should be left to port at about 300 meters, thus reaching the vicinity of Lobeira de Cambados, passing about 100 meters north of Pragueiro de Fóra and trying to leave another 100 meters south of Lobeira, between this place and Golfeira. From this point, you will find the buoys marking the entrance to the port of the island of La Toja.
