About this port

The port of Cabodeiro is located in the northwest of Illa de Arousa, a privileged natural area situated in the heart of the estuary, in the province of Pontevedra. Currently, it is connected to the mainland by a 2-kilometer bridge. Illa de Arousa offers visitors the enjoyment of its beautiful beaches, excursions to the Carreirón natural park (declared in 1989 as a “Wetland of International Importance”), the practice of water activities, or simply tasting its delicious gastronomy. Fishing, shellfishing, and mussel farming on the characteristic rafts are the livelihood of its inhabitants.

Port entrance

Route and approach instructions

To enter Cabodeiro, we will leave the main channel of the Ría de Arousa and set course after passing the entrance buoy through the entrance channel between the raft polygons to the west and east. We will pass the specific entrance channel to Vilanova until reaching the end of the western raft polygon.

We will skirt it on a heading of 270, and at its end, we will set course 340 to the Cabodeiro dock. Near the dock to starboard, there are some shoals marked on the charts.

To access this pier, tides must be taken into account for draft reasons.
