The Alella Designation of Origin is one of the smallest and oldest in Catalonia, known for its fresh and elegant wines. Sauló soils and a coastal climate give personality to varieties such as pansa blanca and garnacha. Within this DO is Alta Alella, an organic family winery located between the sea and the Serralada de Marina Natural Park, just 4 km from the Port of Masnou. It produces wines and cavas using sustainable techniques that reflect the character of the Mediterranean landscape and features a modern visitor center offering wine tourism, cultural, and gastronomic experiences, always with a sustainable and transparent approach.
Alta Alella is a family winery located on the slopes of the Serralada de Marina Natural Park, a few kilometers from Barcelona and overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. They have cultivated organic vineyards since 1991, now extended on terraces between 100 and 25 m altitude over sauló soils. Harvesting is manual, and they focus on microvinifications to capture the character of the terroir. They are pioneers in cavas without added sulfites and produce a wide range of organic wines and cavas that reflect the essence of the local landscape and climate. Additionally, they have a modern visitor center offering wine tourism, cultural, and gastronomic experiences, always with a sustainable and transparent approach.
The Alella area has been famous for its vineyards and wines for many years. Thanks to the sun, sea breeze, and special soil, the grapes grow with great flavor. There you will find Alta Alella, a winery where grapes are grown near the sea and mountains. At the winery, they make wines and cavas with great care for nature and the environment.
