The Cruceiro da Igrexa de Santa María de Punxín is a modern monument that stands on a truncated pyramid base made of cement and river stones. On top of it rests a small square step and a square base decorated with moldings on its four sides. The shaft, cylindrical in section, leads to an inverted truncated pyramid capital, also decorated. The ensemble is topped by a Latin cross, with the image of the crucified Christ. This cruceiro was designed by the Sevillian painter Pepi Sánchez and sculpted by Camilo Nogueira, blending tradition and contemporary art in the church's surroundings.
