Sanxenxo is in the Pontevedra Estuary is the tourism capital of the South Estuaries (Rías Baixas) thanks to its privileged location and the beauty of its coast. Inaugurated by the King of Spain Don Juan Carlos I on the 4th of November, 2005, its port has a fifty meters opening and a draught that varies from five to eight meters, as well as 450 moorings between eight and forty-five meters. Its services and facilities include a forty-ton travel-lift, wifi internet connection on the piers, all types of waste collection, twenty-four-hour surveillance, and control-restricted access to docks, among others.

In this town, they hold significant regattas, such as "the President Xunta de Galicia Trophy" or "the National Circuit Class 6mR." Among the fans of Sanxenxo, there is His Majesty the King Don Juan Carlos I, who participates assiduously in these sporting events onboard its yacht, Bribón.

Sanxenxo was also the starting point for the most prestigious transoceanic race in the world, the Volvo Ocean Race, with the competition of a coastal race.

The Sanxenxo harbor completes its offer with a commercial area located in its marina. It has a restaurant and nautical and gift services, among others, and managed by Nauta Sanxenxo, a local company with a concession area of 123,222-m². Its facilities include a 90,000-m² sheet of water, 450 moorings, and more than 25,000-m² of pedestrian space.

Sanxenxo is a Galician County located in the Pontevedra province within the Val do Salnés region, on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean, and the Pontevedra and Arousa Estuaries.

The name of this seafaring town comes from San Ginés, who is the patron saint of the town. In 1842, it was called Sanjenjo villa; in 1877, Sangenjo, and finally, in 1983, it changed to Sanxenxo, which is its current name.
