The port is a small cove in a meander on the eastern bank of the estuary. It is protected from the sand carried by the Butrón by two small breakwaters marked at their tips. Inside, there are two dock lines and a perimeter dock with a mooring capacity for 149 boats. The maximum length is 8 m. Occupancy is full. No berths are reserved for transits. Many small boats anchor in the estuary.
In the town, all kinds of services are available: supermarkets, restaurants, medical services, pharmacies, etc.

- The port of Plentzia, better known as "La Gallarda," is located inside the municipality's estuary and covers an area of one hectare. Due to the difficulty of anchoring in the Gaminiz cove, the estuary is the only refuge. At the beginning of its history, it was a commercial port, later it hosted fishing activity, and today it is basically a recreational boat port.
