Route and approach instructions

If entering the Arousa Estuary from the south, it is advisable to use the main channel between Sálvora Island and the O Grove peninsula. Its center is free of dangers since its depth is from 60 to 70 meters and its width is 2.5 miles. If entering from the north, use the Sagres channel, which has a minimum width of 200 meters between the Toran islet and the Maiador islet in Sagres. However, sailing boats should only use this passage with favorable winds. Then, everyone should cross the pass between Con de Vieiras and the Sargo rocks near Vionta Island.

Whether entering from the north or the main south entry point, once in the estuary, you should continue towards the channel formed by Rúa Island and the Xidoiro Pedregoso Islet, leaving several mussel rafts to starboard, and then, Arousa Island. Then, passing the green buoy near Cabalo Point in Arousa Island, head directly to the Vilagarcía de Arousa Harbor.

Upon arrival at the harbor and once past the main breakwater, leave the commercial wharf to starboard and set course 115 degrees to head for the Vilagarcía de Arousa passenger embarkation/disembarkation dock located at the south pier in the O Cavadelo area.
