About this port

From this pier, you can appreciate the imposing verticality of the mountains, which provides access to various places of interest. During the river journey, you can enjoy a splendid view of the reservoir’s structure, especially from the viewpoints of the San Estevo Dam and the pier itself, which allow observation of the waters of the Sil, the shape of the river, and the characteristics of the opposite shore. Hiking routes can also be undertaken along the riverbank, through soutos (chestnut forests), leading to waterfalls and chapels of great scenic and spiritual value.

Environment
Nogueira de Ramuín stands out for its landscapes and geological features provided by the Sil river with the reservoirs of San Estevo Ribas do Sil and San Pedro do Sil; with the monasteries of San Estevo (national parador) from which, at the Penedos do Castro Viewpoint, we will have an aerial view of the monastery and the landscape with the Sil river. Nearby, there is the San Estevo waterfall, the Gundrei bridge, A Barca, the Romanesque churches of San Martín de Nogueira, San Cristóbal de Armariz, the hermitages of Virgen del Monte, A Barca, Costria, etc. Close by are: Los Peares, which allows us to ascend towards Pantón to enjoy its historic ensembles of the Miño river; the city of Ourense with its heritage and thermal baths; and the monastery of San Pedro das Rocas, which would enable us to plan a circular route.
